Only 5 weeks to go now!

It finally feels like we are starting to get on top of all the organising now, rather than a few weeks ago when it was all a bit overwhelming.  Chris and I both have our Indian and Pakistani visas now, the Chinese invitation letters are all sorted and Iran is on the way, so things are looking promising.

I’ve had a fantastic time in the last few weeks ruining my credit card on Amazon and ebay – satellite phone, car stereo bits, UHF radio, video camera, fuel filters, fuel containers and upgraded horns (for India and China!) – and there’s more to come.

Quite a bit of time now is being spent on working out our actual route and what to see along the way.  I’ve spent so much time on working out just what is actually possible with border crossings and ferry shippings and stuff that I haven’t worked out where to stop.  I think that if we’re going to the trouble of driving half way around the world then it would be nice to actually see a few things along the way.  Driving the car around in London, it’s hard to image the sights that we’re going to be seeing through the widscreen over then next 5 months.

Thanks to the people who have already submitted charity challenges.  I’m getting a bit nervous now at what we are going to end up doing in the name of charity!  Hopefully all in good fun, so please keep them rolling in.
